NZ Sports Academy provides training camps for rugby coaches from all over the world.

​The rugby coaching camp programme for coaches consists of:

  • “Learn the skill not the drill”
  • Game planning based on Māori rugby (free-flowing, running rugby)
  • “Fourteen men working as a team so the 15th man can score”
  • Work with Academy students all day on weights, fitness, speed/agility and game plans
  • Individual skills, unit skills, mini units
  • Organise and run training sessions
  • View and assess Academy rugby games
  • Team management: What are my team protocols, policies and aims?
  • Team selection and positional management: What are my selection policies and players positional requirements?
  • Game-plan and strategies: How do I design effective game-plans to match my strengths?
  • Preparation: How do I prepare and motivate my team?

Our coaching camp also includes using our Academy players for assessment purposes. You will have 20-30 players to use as well as the opportunity to be involved in Saturday club games.
